Program: The modernization of Henry Smothers Elementary School will be a renovation of sixty-six thousand square feet with a new addition. The existing building consists of two historical academic wings constructed in 1923 and 1938. The goal of this project is to bring smothers in line with the current District of Columbia Public School (DCPS) educational specifications.

Concept: “A Hand Shake with History” To embrace the existing structure as Ward 7 has a generational connection to it. This concept was executed with the shape of the addiction embracing the existing slope to create another level with entrance.
